current bgm: You Get to Burning [Martian Successor Nadesico Opening]

Okay, for Christmas my brother got me Final Fantasy 9 and Final Fantasy Chronicles as my present. I love him dearly.

After FF 7 and 8, especially 8, I was extremely wary about playing any more FF titles. 6 is my absolute favorite, but 4 is a close second. 9's a really good game, I was surprised. The character designs- please forgive O wonderous Amano-sama! -isn't that great, I think and there are parts that I don't like, but all in all, it was a nice return to the usual 'fantasy' world. Don't get me wrong, I liked 7, just not all that much. 8 I could've done without.

Anyway, to the point that I'm making: For the passed four days- I say four because I've been having to cut my playtime short for various reasons, most of which being my mom -I've been playing Final Fantasy 4. I knew that they watered stuff down like hell, but man... I didn't think it was /that/ much! I was so surprised! Like in the Tower of Zot when you rescue Rosa, it's not a steel ball that's supposed to fall on her- which I always thought was kind of wierd -but a huge blade. Talk about your changes. But, I am now in the final level- as soon as I get Bahamute and Odin, anyway -and everthing is a lot easier than I remembered... I mean, when I fought the dolls Cal and Brena, they didn't even form Calbrena before I killed them all. I have no idea why that is.

But I digress some more. Because I've been playing FF4 again, I've gotten an urge to do a picture or a fic for it. So you get to see a snippet here. My drawing, for some reason, is really sucking recently, so please excuse the crappyness of todays picture.

He turned at the sound of his name, Edge approached him.

He turned back to the sky and sea that no longer held a difference, just a blur of blue stretched into eternity. He turned back to Edge.

"I can still fly."

Arms stretched out like wings, he closed his eyes and dove into the sky.

When he opened them, the warm sand was to his back, the sea weaving in his ears, around his head, down his body. And Edge stood over him, watching him with sad eyes.

"I can't see the difference." He was a lost beam of sun, wrapped in sky. "I don't know what's real and what isn't."

"It's whatever you want it to be."

"I don't want it to be this."

"Then change it."

He closed his eyes with a smile, head tilting back as the sea filled around them.

"Find your bliss, Kain. You deserve it as much as anyone."

Kain and Edge

It would look better colored. Kain's outfit and Edge's hair has been giving me problems lately, but... Damn, that was the best I could do recently. I need to get my hand back...
